About
Bronwyn Saunders
Bronwyn is a children’s author and passionate citizen scientist who delights in sharing facts about Australia’s natural history with readers. Her first picture book is Diprotodon: A Megafauna Journey – illustrated by Andrew Plant and published by CSIRO Publishing.

Bronwyn delights in promoting herself as the kid from Kalangadoo, who regularly visited the Naracoorte Caves in South Australia during her primary school education.
The girl from Kalangadoo
"At least once a year we would go on a school excursion to the Naracoorte Caves and learn about the stalactites and stalagmites. Megafauna was never mentioned, despite the 1969 discoveries and the 1994 World Heritage Area listing.
But, I always saw the sign advertising Flinders University and their involvement in some project to do with the Caves. I understood that it was the best university around and made plans to go there at a very early age."
